People recommend updating the BIOS just like you'd update drivers, but it's completely unnecessary and only adds risk. With FX CPU motherboards it probably is a good thing to update to the latest BIOS as mobo makers are still sorting out the BIOS for this new architecture.
The warning to not update unless you have issues is typically valid with mature BIOS because a failed BIOS update will disable your mobo and it will need to be returned to get the BIOS chip replaced.

So we went and sent reports to Gigabytes tech support, here are some of replies we got.In short the VRMs start to cause throttling when they get to a certain temp, problem is they get to that temp very very easy and require a fan to be placed on top of the heat sink just to acquire stability.from what i have tried to understand is that i download the bios from gigabyte website with the correct rev, put it on a clean usb which has been formatted and put only the one file that was extracted from the bios onto the usb which has a f8 type file.I then reboot and enter bios, then press f8 to enter qflash and then find the file and update.
